About Us

Anthony Cox and Susan Forbes are registered hypnotherapists with a joint practice in East Kent.
Anthony studied with the UK College of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy and holds the Diploma in Cognitive-Behavioural Hypnotherapy. He is registered with the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) as a Senior Practitioner.
Susan studied hypnosis in the Faculty of Psychology at University College London. In addition to her MSc in clinical hypnosis, she has a postgraduate diploma in cognitive behavioural therapy. Susan is accredited by the British Society of Clinical & Academic Hypnosis (BSCAH) and is also an accredited member of the British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). She is a GHR-registered Senior Practitioner.

We offer a scientific approach to hypnotherapy by basing our treatments on psychological research findings. With consulting rooms in Broadstairs, Kent, our hypnotherapy practice is well-placed to offer a personalised service to clients from across south-east England.

Confidentiality

Your personal information and any notes relating to hypnotherapy provided to you are kept securely at all times.

Information we collect about you and how we use it
When you first contact us, basic personal information will be collected for (1) contact and identification purposes and (2) to allow an initial assessment of whether hypnotherapy is appropriate. During any subsequent therapy sessions, notes may be taken. These could include sensitive details about your personal life. Any such notes are solely for the purpose of providing you with relevant hypnotherapy.
The personal information gathered at the time of your initial contact with us will not be retained but will be promptly and securely deleted if we mutually agree that hypnotherapy is inappropriate for you. Similarly, if you do not keep your first appointment – and fail to arrange a new start date – we will assume that no hypnotherapy is required and your personal details will not be retained but will be promptly and securely deleted.

Your rights
You have rights relating to the information gathered:
1. To request a copy of this information. Should you make such a request, the information will be given to you within 30 days of the request being received.
2. To supplement, delete (although this right is not absolute), update or correct it.
3. To request the transfer of your data to another individual or company.

Data retention
Your information is kept for the time necessary to provide the hypnotherapy service requested plus five years (this period being a requirement of our insurers). Upon completion of hypnotherapy plus five years, all data will be securely deleted.

Consent
Upon starting your hypnotherapy, you will be asked to agree that we can hold your personal information and any notes relating to the hypnotherapy provided to you.
